Sierra Grande Chardonnay
Ripe white peaches and mango on the nose with tight and structured mineral flavours on the palate. No oak, very pure, clean and crisp with bright tropical fruit.
The fruit driven Chardonnay is rich, round and immediately appealing whilst the Cabernet is full of dark cassis fruit with ripe soft tannins.
Grapes are sourced from a stunning 200 year old hacienda which sits amidst strawberry fields in the Andean foothills above Talca in the beautiful Maule Valley. Produced from old vine Chardonnay (25-40yrs) grown on the Hacienda Valle Frio estate in Maule Valley. The altitude here means that the diurnal temperature variation extends the growing season balancing ripeness and acidity.
No oak is used so the wine is a pure expression of the fruit. The old wooden winery in the midst of strawberry fields has survived all of Chile’s worst earthquakes over the past 2 centuries.
Very pleasurable on it’s own, this would nevertheless be perfect with poultry, fish dishes & creamy pasta bakes.
